The Big Wedding

I love all of the actors who were in “The Big Wedding”, but this is the worst screw-ball comedy I have ever seen in my life.

“The Big Wedding” is about a modern Dysfunctional family with grown children attempts to survive a weekend as a normal family hosting a wedding and reception.

A divorced couple Don and Ellie Griffin (DeNiro and Keaton) are placed in an awkward position when they need to “Fake” that they are still married for the benefit of their adopted son’s wedding when they find out that his conservative biological Mother decides at the last minute to fly across the country to attend the wedding. The story unfolds from there…

The movie is hilarious and stupid at the same time. There are at least 5 stories going on simultaneously in the movie. Each family member has his or her own drama that unfolds during this particular weekend.

The movie is crass and crude to say the least. The characters are never fully developed and that’s what makes the movie difficult to watch. I am disappointed I expected better.

“The Big Wedding” was originally scheduled to open in late 2012. The delay until April 2013 did not help it.
I would not spend any money seeing “The Big Wedding” unless you are bored and have nothing else to do. Wait for Blue Ray, DVD or Cable.
