The Matrix Resurrections in AMC Dolby

It’s been 18 years since the Matrix Franchise graced us with an installment. I thought they were gone for good since everyone is aging, but alas the franchise has pushed out a new installment.

This Matrix installment is nothing like the installments that came before it. It lacks the fluidness and style of the Matrix Trilogy. Although it does revisit the Franchise with zeal.

In this installment we find Neo aka Mr. Anderson trying to determine if his reality is a physical or mental construction. To determine this Neo will have to follow the white rabbit once again. Once again, choice is an illusion and is still the only way out of or into the Matrix. This time though, The Matrix is stronger, more secure and more dangerous than ever before. The saga unfolds from there…

This reboot is a good one, although there are a few lulls in the story. The special effects at times are breathtakingly cool and at other times scary. There is tons of non-stop action, intrigue and suspense. Just what you expect from Sci-Fi. I was also impressed by the cinematography and camera angles.

If you are a fan of the Matrix Franchise, “The Matrix Resurrections” should not be missed.

“The Matrix Resurrections” is in Theaters and streaming on HBO MAX.

This is a 3 ½ Star Movie!!

Downsizing

“Downsizing” has an impressive cast, too bad the movie wasn’t as impressive as it should have been. The end of the movie is very anti-climactic.

When Scientists discover how to shrink humans to 5 inches in an attempt to combat over population, Paul (Matt Damon) and his wife Audrey (Kristin Wiig) decided this is the way to go for them, so they sign up. Half way through the procedure Audrey changes her mind, she calls Paul to tell him, but Paul has completed the procedure and is now 5 inches tall. The Story unfolds from there…

The movie starts off Ok, but after the first hour, the movie tanks. It does not make sense. It’s all over the map and becomes boring. This was supposed to be a Comedy, but I never laughed once.

This is a 2 ½ Star Movie!

Gone Girl

“Oh My Gosh!!”, “Gone Girl” is jaw dropping good!! The mystery of it all is insane!! The plot and story are out of this world crazy!! The movie is based on the best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn.

“Gone Girl” is about the ups and downs of a modern marriage. On their fifth wedding anniversary Nick Dunne (Affleck) finds himself contacting the police because he comes home and finds what appears to look like a struggle of some kind took place in his home and his wife is missing…The story unfolds from there…

Straight away it looks like “Been there done that”, but WAIT!! It’s like a made bed that you decide to unmake. As you remove pieces of the bedding the picture starts to come together and oh what a picture it makes.

“Gone Girl” is excellently executed, a slow churning suspense mystery with plenty of intrigue. You will be on the edge of your seat. The performances of the actors are superb.

This has to be the best Suspense/Mystery/Thriller I have seen in a while…

If you like Suspense/Mystery/Thrillers, “Gone Girl” is your movie.

“Gone Girl” is definitely a must see!!

This is a 4 1/2 Star Movie!!
