No Time to Die in Real 3D

No Time to Die in Real 3D

Wow!! Finally… “No Time to Die”. This installment finds James Bond attempting to live a normal life in Jamaica. He is no longer with the agency and is enjoying a peaceful life.

James’s peaceful life is short lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA contacts him needing his help. The mission is to find a Scientist who has been kidnapped. The mission ends up being far more dangerous than expected. The trail leads Bond to a mysterious villain who is armed with a dangerous new weapon. The story unfolds from there…

I will miss Daniel Craig as James Bond. He is cool as a cucumber in this installment. He dispatches bad guys with style and grace.

This installment leaves nothing out. The movie has tons of action, suspense, intrigue and a few special effects. The cinematography is on point. The story is rich with a back and a front. The 3D aspects were very good.

While “Skyfall” and “Casino Royale” are two of the very best Bond installments from Dan Craig, “No Time to Die” is right there with them.

If you are a James Bond fan “No Time to Die” should not be missed.

“No Time to Die” is only available in Theaters.

This is a 4 ½ Star Movie!!

Black and Blue

“Black and Blue” is a fast-paced action thriller with many twists and turns.

Alicia West (Naomie Harris) is a rookie cop on the New Orleans Police Department who accidentally observes several fellow officers killing some questionable people execution style. Once her fellow officers realize they have been caught, they try to kill Alicia, but she gets away. The story unfolds from there…

“Black and Blue” would be an awesome movie had there been a back story and more depth into the key characters. There are several unfinished mini stories that you have to use you own imagination as to what may have happened in the past to lead them to where they are today.
All of that being said, the movie has non-stop action, intrigue and is worth checking out.

Rampage in 3D

A Space and Science project involving DNA goes all wrong. That is the premises for Rampage.

A gentle Silverback Gorilla named George who resides at a zoo, a wild Coyote in Wyoming and a Crocodile all become the unwilling recipients of a DNA sample that crash lands in various parts of the US from a Space Satellite Shuttle that was heading to Earth but exploded upon entry to Earth’s atmosphere.

Primatologist Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) has a bond with George and can communicate with him. Davis attempts to calm George when it’s obvious that something has gone terribly wrong. The Authorities sedate George and attempt to transport him to a secure facility. Davis is also brought along.

The company who is involved with the DNA project attempts to cover their tracks once it’s determined that the DNA samples have crash landed back on earth. They have their own military personnel at their disposal and dispatch them to find and kill the Coyote.
But things go terribly wrong. The story unfolds from there…

Every year these types of movies make their way to the big screen.
This one is actually pretty good. Dwayne Johnson always does well in action movies. “Rampage” will appeal to the younger set because there are large animals running wild in the big city and Dwayne Johnson and the military are coming to the rescue.
The cinematography is great. There was even some comic relief.

If you like these types of movies, check out “Rampage”.

Collateral Beauty

“Collateral Beauty” is about an executive in a successful N.Y. Advertising Company who loses his six year old daughter. She dies unexpectedly and basically the executive never recovers. He totally retreats from day to day life. The other executives in the company spend an undisclosed amount of time trying to communicate with the executive. He totally ignores their calls, visits, emails, and letters.

The company decides they need to divest the executive of his shares in the company, they hire someone to watch him so that they can try to get evidence to show he’s unfit. The story unfolds from there…

“Collateral Beauty” starts off ok, but goes downhill quickly. It’s a colossal waste of some powerfully strong actors and actresses. Besides the main story there are several side stories that pop-up and take control, but are never completed. This causes the movie to appear and feel disjointed.

I had high hopes for “Collateral Beauty”, after all it is the holiday season and this is when the best movies make their appearances. Unfortunately there is no beauty in “Collateral Beauty”.

Spectre 007 the IMAX Experience

I have been a James Bond fan for a very long time. Sean Connery is and always will be the best James Bond ever!!!

Contrary to what is being said, I do not think that “Spectre 007” is the best Bond ever!!
James Bond receives a cryptic message from his past that send him on a wild goose chase across the continent to uncover a sinister organization known simply as “Spectre”. While Bond is chasing bad guys and trying to find out about Spectre, M fights a political battle to keep the Secret Service intact. The story unfolds from there…

The first 15 minutes of the movie is awesome!! After that things go a bit awry. There are so many angles and layers to the story you are not sure who the bad guys are and who can be trusted or even what is really going on. There is a ton of action, crazy stunts and mayhem. The movie takes you to such places as Mexico, Rome, London and Austria. The usual sexy, awesome looking sports car and car chases are still there along with a couple of crazy Helicopters stunts.

What is not there is the original “M” Judi Dench. It is my understanding that the movie studio thought that Judi Dench was too old to continue to play “M’. For that blunder the movie loses a star.

Judi Dench makes a very brief cameo appearance via a video recording. Judi Dench is and always will be “M”.

This latest installment of 007 James Bond does not bring anything new to the big screen. If you are a Bond fan you have seen it all previously. With the exception of the song/scenes of Bond with naked women, the sound track is awesome especially the music that is playing when the movie starts and goes through the first 10 minutes or so.

“Spectre 007” is a decent movie, but nowhere near what you would expect a Bond movie to be.

This is a 3 Star Movie!

Southpaw

“Rocky” this is not!! But it does have its own identity.

“Southpaw” tells a riveting story about Billy “The Great” Hope a reigning Junior Middle Weight Boxing Champion of the World.

It appears that Billy has a great life and successful Boxing career, a loving wife and an adorable daughter. When tragedy strikes, Billy’s entire world is turned on its axis. His long-time friend and manager Curtis (50 Cent) up and leaves him. Billy hits rock bottom. Now in dire despair Billy turns to an old ally who owns and operates a run-down gym from Billy’s early boxing days. The story unfolds from there…

“Southpaw” is “Bloody”. The movie is physically brutal during the boxing action. It’s a bit tough to watch. The action scenes are very surreal. I felt that Jake Gyllenhaal did an excellent job portraying Bill Hope. The movie ends a bit abruptly leaving the family dynamic part of the story unfinished.
