No Time to Die in Real 3D

No Time to Die in Real 3D

Wow!! Finally… “No Time to Die”. This installment finds James Bond attempting to live a normal life in Jamaica. He is no longer with the agency and is enjoying a peaceful life.

James’s peaceful life is short lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA contacts him needing his help. The mission is to find a Scientist who has been kidnapped. The mission ends up being far more dangerous than expected. The trail leads Bond to a mysterious villain who is armed with a dangerous new weapon. The story unfolds from there…

I will miss Daniel Craig as James Bond. He is cool as a cucumber in this installment. He dispatches bad guys with style and grace.

This installment leaves nothing out. The movie has tons of action, suspense, intrigue and a few special effects. The cinematography is on point. The story is rich with a back and a front. The 3D aspects were very good.

While “Skyfall” and “Casino Royale” are two of the very best Bond installments from Dan Craig, “No Time to Die” is right there with them.

If you are a James Bond fan “No Time to Die” should not be missed.

“No Time to Die” is only available in Theaters.

This is a 4 ½ Star Movie!!

Knives Out

“Knives Out” is a fresh “Who Done it”, Think “Murder on the Orient Express” in a quiet modern upscale Estate with many twists and turns.

Everything gets chaotic when renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead after his 85th Birthday at his estate. Everyone is a suspect. Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is on the case. Detective Blanc and his team find themselves digging through a web of decent and red herring to get at the truth. No stone will be left unturned. The story unfolds from there…

“Knives Out” is very entertaining, has some comic relief and many twists and turns. The movie is fresh. The cast at times is hilarious. If you like Agatha Christie type mysteries, you should definitely check out “Knives Out”.

This is a 5 Star Movie!!

Logan Lucky

After a very slow start “Logan Lucky” revs its engine and races to the finish line. It’s a story we have all seen before, but “Logan Lucky” has a few entertaining moments along with a few interesting twists.

Brothers Jimmy (Channing Tatum) and Clyde (Adam Driver) Logan are trying to eradicate a family curse by successfully executing an elaborate bank robbery during the famous Coco-Cola 600 Race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. They need help and guidance, but the person they need help from is currently in prison. That doesn’t stop them. They figure out an elaborate scheme to setup a prison break and get their friend out to help them. The story unfolds from there…

“Logan Lucky” is a departure from the norm for Mr. Bond (Daniel Craig). You will see him in a very different light with his bleached blonde hair.
Director Steven Soderbergh is back from a 4 year hiatus. The last movie that he directed that I saw was “Side Effects” in 2013.

There are some strange, quirky and interesting moments in “Logan Lucky”. Example… just when things are heating up the movie plot stops for a beauty pageant. It’s a cute moment.

Director Steven Soderbergh is excellent at what he does, so I say that while “Logan Lucky” has a slow and strange start, the movie does come together at the end and it is worth a look.

I am looking forward to “Ocean’s Eight” in 2018 which is a Steven Soderbergh production.

This is a 4 Star Move!

Spectre 007 the IMAX Experience

I have been a James Bond fan for a very long time. Sean Connery is and always will be the best James Bond ever!!!

Contrary to what is being said, I do not think that “Spectre 007” is the best Bond ever!!
James Bond receives a cryptic message from his past that send him on a wild goose chase across the continent to uncover a sinister organization known simply as “Spectre”. While Bond is chasing bad guys and trying to find out about Spectre, M fights a political battle to keep the Secret Service intact. The story unfolds from there…

The first 15 minutes of the movie is awesome!! After that things go a bit awry. There are so many angles and layers to the story you are not sure who the bad guys are and who can be trusted or even what is really going on. There is a ton of action, crazy stunts and mayhem. The movie takes you to such places as Mexico, Rome, London and Austria. The usual sexy, awesome looking sports car and car chases are still there along with a couple of crazy Helicopters stunts.

What is not there is the original “M” Judi Dench. It is my understanding that the movie studio thought that Judi Dench was too old to continue to play “M’. For that blunder the movie loses a star.

Judi Dench makes a very brief cameo appearance via a video recording. Judi Dench is and always will be “M”.

This latest installment of 007 James Bond does not bring anything new to the big screen. If you are a Bond fan you have seen it all previously. With the exception of the song/scenes of Bond with naked women, the sound track is awesome especially the music that is playing when the movie starts and goes through the first 10 minutes or so.

“Spectre 007” is a decent movie, but nowhere near what you would expect a Bond movie to be.

This is a 3 Star Movie!

Skyfall

Sean Connery will always be James Bond to me. He set the standard for all other Bond impersonators who came after him. Although in this latest installment of the Bond Franchise, Daniel Craig runs a very close second to Sean Connery. The James Bond you see in “Skyfall” is “Shaken not Stirred”. He has such a cool facade you wonder if anything gets to him.
In this installment of the Bond Franchise, James Bond and M (Judi Dench) find themselves the targets of a sadistic killer who will stop at nothing to get to “M”. Additionally James Bond’s current assignment goes terribly wrong and all of the real identities of the undercover agents for Her Majesty’s Service have been compromised. Bond must stop the person from leaking all of the identities before the agents are harmed and keep “M” safe. The story unfolds from there…
Lots of action and violence, the movie at times is intense, dark and sensual. Although there are some slow parts, the movie will easily hold your attention. New faces appear for “Money Penny” and “Q”.
“Skyfall” is probably Daniel Craig’s best work as 007. Definitely worth the ticket if you are a James Bond fan.
