Twisters in AMC Dolby

Twisters in AMC Dolby

I do not normally see Weather-Related Disaster Movies like this, but the trailer looked entertaining, so here goes…

Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) is a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City.

She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system.

There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the storms, the better. As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed. Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems that converge over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives. The story unfolds from there…

The movie is entertaining. The cinematography and special effects are on point. The execution is loaded with Drama and Sparks Flying. It’s like being on a constant Roller Coaster Ride. You are not sure if you want to get off once it stops or go for the thrills again. It’s been a very long time between this installment and the original. This seems fresh though and not too close to its predecessor.

If you are looking for an adventure and thrills check out “Twisters”

This is a 4 Star Move!!

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in 3D

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in 3D

It’s 1994 and a new faction of Transformers, The Maximals join the Autobots as Allies in the battle for earth.

An Ancient artifact arrives in a museum in New York. One of the Curators is extremely fascinated to uncover its origin. The Curator works late into the evening and by mistake she removes the covering that was shielding the artifact. Doing this causes a signal to be sent by the artifact up in the sky bringing unwanted enemies to earth who had been looking for the artifact. The story unfolds from there…

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a 90’s thrill ride. Tons of action, special effects, intrique and cinematography make this move enjoyable. It’s wholesome fun and just about anyone who is a Transformers fan will enjoy the movie. What keeps this from being a 4- or 5-star movie is that it gets off to a slow start and there are a few dead spots.

This is a 3 ½ Star Movie!!

The Heights

The Heights

“The Heights” is a modern-day musical about the tight knit community in Washington Heights, NY. The trials and tribulations of everyday life are played out via song and dance.

There really isn’t nothing not to like about “The Heights”.  The movie is very pleasurable and is executed very well. The music is always on point. You will be dancing in your theater seat.

“The Heights” is definitely worth seeing on the big screen so that you get the full effect of the songs and dances. If you can’t get out to the theater, then check out “The Heights” on HBO MAX.
